Antique Mirror Glass for Decor
Vintage and antique mirrors, available in a wide variety of styles, including custom-cut options, have become increasingly popular for interior design applications in homes, offices, restaurants, hotels and bars, thanks to Tuscany Classics. Attachable to any space, these mirrors provide an elegant touch, enhancing its aesthetic appeal. Their unique appearance is a result of historical float glass manufacturing techniques, giving rise to the "wavy glass" effect, distinguished by subtle waves that create visual distortions when viewed from varying angles. This effect is also known as "restoration window glasses." Glass produced between the 1700s and the early 1900s possesses this distinctive quality, with irregularities like smaller seeds, pits, or heavy cords (or reams) more commonly appearing, especially in early productions. This characteristic makes each mirror truly one-of-a-kind.
While glass manufacturing has evolved, the appeal of antique glass remains timeless. Preservationists value the charm of wavy glass windows, often produced using the mouthblown glass method, a traditional manufacturing process for authentic historic glass. Alternatively, products like Circa 1800 & 1900™ emulate the look and feel of mouthblown glass but offer greater flexibility in sheet sizes and thicknesses.
Tuscany Classics takes pride in handcrafting the finest vintage mirrors, offering over 10 color and pattern variations. These antique mirror glasses serve as unique decorative statements in various applications, including back-splashes, framed wall mirrors, decorative walls, bathroom mirrors, kitchens, furniture pieces, elevators, cabinets, closet doors, and more. All finishes are available in a 5 mm thickness and can be custom-cut to fit project specifications, with popular finishes including antique bronze mirror, antique gold mirror, and white vintage mirror.
